Set Free Ministries

About Us

Set Free's Ministries delivers the message of hope and freedom to the oppressed, depressed, addicted, and convicted. We are a non-profit and non-denominational ministry of Jesus Christ near New Ulm, MN. We started our mission during the 1st quarter of 2007 and have developed a successful speaking ministry, traveling Christian rock music ministry, children's church, and assistance for the unstable. If you don't like repetitive suit-and-tie religion, this may be the place for you. We are different, we are real, we are alive.

Why We Need a New Website

We do not have a building, but 'borrow' facilities from other churches. We are currently located in Sleepy Eye, MN. It is our goal to eventually setup semi-permanent facilities to assist in treatment. We are a traveling ministry who brings its message across Southern MN. Often, persons wishing to attend services with us cannot due to the locations and frequency of which we travel. We present a bulletin to each congregation, but need a way to reach those who can't get a paper bulletin, a way to tell everyone where we will be, and ultimately broadcast our performances either via live feed or recorded .mpeg. This will also help advertise and build the organization. As we travel, we gain a vast audience who wish to follow our progress and support us. Since we can't have a normal physical bulletin board, a website will allow us to publish our dates and locations of service, opportunities to volunteer, dates of events such as special concerts or performers, motorcycle rallies, and street ministry, forums, and helpful articles and thought notes. A continually updated website is essential to the growth of Set Free ministries in regards to communications, daily inspiration, spiritual and financial support. We would like our site to be not just supportive, but youthful (fun, modern - with an emphasis on alternative style), eye popping, and easy to navigate.

For me SET-FREE has really been a God-Send. It is truly amazing what is happening here. I think having a web site would be a good way to let others know what is going on here. Brother Matt.

Set Free is a great place to worship. I have had such a spiritual awakening. I think that a website would be great for Set Free. I have found this place to be a place of comfort and a place where I can praise my God. - John

I have been involved with Set Free from the start and I have seen people delivered from Drugs and Alcohol, families restored, and lives set free! The people here are truly care for you and I want to thank them very much.

A web site developed for Set Free Ministry would be a God-send! The ministry reaches out to 'lost sheep' with the message of God's unconditional Love, Grace and Mercy and His free gift of salvation. They are a ministry that practices what they preach, too, by going out into the community and assisting those in need of life's most basic necessities, e.g. food, clothing, etc. A web site would be a great outreach tool for them to communicate with folks already familiar with the ministry, but just imagine how many other souls might be 'set free' if they had a chance to find out about Set Free Ministries when they're doing a little on-line 'surfing'!

Set Free is an amazing organizaton. I've been to a lot of 'churches', but this defintely breaks the mold. They don't bother with making you feel good about what you already know, they more effectively assist you in applying what you do know so you can succeed. It helped me to be a better husband and father because I stopped wondering when I was going to do it...and I just did it. I've seen people stand up and make genuine decisions to stop using drugs and alcohol. I've seen people gradually change from inverted and angry to loving and at peace. I've seen people get the emergency help they need, because Set Free doesn't bury the funds they receive, they use it for what's right. Set Free takes your old, tired, and worn out church and makes it alive. I've watched attendance increase over 1,000% in a matter of months because people see that it's working. I attend a regular church on Sundays, but on Set Free Saturday nights, I know I can walk away feeling excited and knowing that things can be better for anyone, in any situation. A website would be a very good thing here. They have a tough time getting all their information out to everyone because a lot of times people just can't make it, but they want to be included. Since Set Free is sort of a mobile organization; they definitely need a better way to inform and advertise. Lastly, you've gotta admit...you could do some pretty fun stuff with a website here. This place is into motorcycles, rock n' roll, and having fun. GOOD LUCK!!

Set-Free is AWESOME! It has brought back the people who have gotten lost by religion, addiction, depression, & etc. Life the Bible say. "If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go search of the one that went astray?" Matthew 18:12 This is what Set-Free is doing! It's amazing, I have a 2 1/2 year of grandson that stays with us on weekends, and he wakes up on Saturday morning and says, "We go to church, we see Pastor Wade, and Grandpa sings Alleluia! Also, I have 2 granddaughters ages 13 and 8 that will call me and say, "my Mom can't make it to Set-Free tonight, can we go with you?" They never did this before, for our old church. This month Set-Free is having a clothing exchange. Anyone who has clothes that they don't need, can bring them to the church. Then anyone, yes anyone, who is in need of clothing can come and get anything they need. Already we have more than just clothes, dishes, shoes, etc. The fellowship that we have encountered is fantastic. Every Saturday evening the people just stick around and talk after church. Then the last Saturday of the month we have a potluck supper after the service. Every church has an offering, but the neat thing about Set-Free is Pastor Wade tells everyone before the offering is taken, that if you can't afford to give, DON'T. Don't give your rent money, or your grocery money, or your heat money, etc.

There is only one word to explain the Set-Free Ministry "AWESOME". To be completely honest the very first time I was invited to the Set-Free Ministry, I attended the Sioux Falls, SD location. As I walked through the doors and saw the vast variety of individuals and the difference in my usual church Traditions I absolutely did not know what I was doing there. To being so used to the "Traditional Church Services" I thought Set-Free was very different and you know what it is, but it is different in a AWESOME way. Never in my 32 years of life have I gotten as close to GOD as I am today and thats thanks to SET-FREE. At SET-FREE its so "REAL". I can honestly say that never have I talked about GOD outside of Church, but now I catch myself being what some people would call a JESUS FREAK and bring his name up ever so often. "GOD IS GOOD".

I have been a member of several different Christian churches for many years and unfortunately have seen little growth in these Churches. However Set Free Ministries is one of the first Churches to be the exception to the rule. I believe it is largley due to the environment that the Minister sets for his Church. This is truly a church that is targeting the lost and fullfiling the Great Commission. It is also not about the Church as a building but about the body of believers that makes up the congregation. It is very evident upon your first visit that your welcomed and loved - without any fear of condemnation. You will come to understand that judging others based on their looks/dress or actions is not a part of this Church - which allows for an atmosphere and an understanding of what God's love truly is for his people. To conclude -- this is why I believe that this Ministry is growing and will continue to grow, Because they are truly able to reach out to the lost generation of our world.

Our Mission

Set Free's mission is to deliver the message of hope and freedom to the oppressed, depressed, addicted, and convicted. We are a non-profit and non-denominational ministry of Jesus Christ near New Ulm, MN. We started our mission during the 1st quarter of 2007 through Pastor Wade Lang and have developed a successful Christian rock music ministry, children's church, and assistance for the financially unstable. Our main financial mission is to support the Set Free Sioux Falls SD recovery ranch for persons needing extreme treatment from drug and alcohol addictions. This associated group assists addicts in not just breaking the habit, but learning to live positively again and get training for a career to be productive. We accept donations and offerings from attendees, but none of our staff takes a regular salary. Our audience includes all walks of life and especially those who would never step foot into a regular church. Our goal is to show everyone that church doesn't have to be boring or religious. It just needs to be real.
