Feline Rescue

About Us

Feline Rescue is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Our primary goal is to provide shelter and care for stray, abused and abandoned cats until they are adopted into suitable homes. Feline Rescue has no paid staff.

We promote positive community interaction through education, spay/neuter programs and other activities that enable all people to enjoy the friendship of cats.

We operate a shelter where the majority of our cats are free to roam. Volunteer crews come in twice a day to clean the shelter and socialize with the cats. They provide a safe, caring environment while giving the attention and affection the cats deserve.

In addition to our shelter and adoption services we also have a foster care network for our kittens and cats with special needs.

Donations, adoption fees, fund raising events and grants are our primary sources of income. All donations go directly to the care, feeding and medical needs of our cats.

No cat shall be destroyed except when it is beyond medical treatment.

Why We Need a New Website

A new Web site will help Feline Rescue attract more volunteers, donors and members, as well as provide relevant, timely information to cat lovers and those considering adoption.

As the organization moves forward with a new vision for the future, a Web site matching this vision would be a great way to accompany Feline Rescue to future success.

We have been tracking our Web site with Google Analytics. On average, people are spending two minutes on our site. That is a short period of time for people to learn about our organization. I believe part of this reason is because of the overall structure of the site. It is very confusing and difficult to navigate through the pages and find specific information. The homepage provides a variety of links, but several of these links take people away from the site, thus making it difficult for them to learn more about the organization. A new Web site would revolutionize how Feline Rescue could reach potential donors, volunteers and adopters! It could be a resource for people interested in cats to find information. It can help adopters learn more about the adoption process and tips to finding the perfect cat. It can show donors that Feline Rescue is a great organization to contribute to. Our current site is not effective at providing this information.

Feline Rescue is a great organization that is run by all volunteers. For all the cat lovers out there, they should know that Feline Rescue is a no-kill cat shelter. I think our web page is confusing to people and doesn't encourage them to volunteer, donate or othewise support our organization. A new website could boost our visability within the community and bring in much needed support. We could build this sit to provide information to cat lovers, new volunteers, potential donors and adopter and the public in general. The website could be organized so that visitors could find what they're looking for easily. I think this would help people find out more information about the good work Feline Rescue does and help boost our membership and donations so that we can continue saving cats and helping them find good homes.
Leanne Thyken, Treasurer
Feline rescue does a terrific job of sheltering and caring for abandoned, abused, lost, and feral cats. Their staff is dedicated and knowledgeable, and they help match their feline charges with families and individuals who will provide good homes. The fact that Feline Rescue is a ten-year-old organization run strictly by volunteers is impressive, and illustrates the commitment to their mission. Please consider helping them continue to realize their goals and enhance their vision.
