The Wayside House, Inc.

About Us

For over a half a century, Wayside House has been helping women escape the trap of chemical dependency and the painful grip addiction has on mind, body and spirit. Established in 1954, Wayside House is one of the nation’s oldest treatment centers devoted exclusively to the gender-specific needs of women. Programs like Incarnation House help women discover a new life for themselves and their children.

Wayside House helps women achieve their human potential and live harmoniously in a loving community. From primary treatment to long-term supportive housing, Wayside provides a continuum of services to promote sobriety and self-sufficiency for women and their children through the following three programs:

Wayside Treatment Center is an MI/CD program (mentally ill/chemically dependent) for those individuals whose substance abuse is complicated by underlying mental health issues. At Wayside, women discover a healthy lifestyle, achieve their personal potential, become productive citizens, and learn how to be a responsible parent.

Wayside Incarnation House is a reunification transitional housing program offering up to one year of 24-hour supervised housing and programs for mothers in recovery and their children.

Wayside Supportive Housing is a safe, affordable housing option for single women who have a serious commitment to sobriety. Located in St. Louis Park, two apartment buildings, with a total of 20 units, are reserved for women with minor children. Four scattered site apartments also are available for single women.

The mission of Wayside House is to help chemically dependent women establish healthy lifestyles, achieve personal potential, and become productive citizens by providing treatment, housing and social services. Our efforts are guided by the following goals:

· That a committed, mission driven, staff provides quality services, effective programming, and measurable results in response to the community’s trust.

· That diversity and individualized treatment are to be valued and celebrated

Why We Need a New Website

Help connect Wayside House with individuals in need of services. We'd like a better- How to get help page to help individuals looking for treatment to be able to learn how to get help. We would also like the web page to have more options for donations. A donate now button on each page?? A way to get volunteers, promote wayside house, highlight recent activities, be easy to update and be easy to navigate.
